Fall 2006 Notes

As we draw a bit closer to 2008, thoughts about the library to be built have changed. Some new ideas:

• Compact shelving: this will maximize space, yet keep the book collection close by (and with the added benefit of not having to pay costs for offsite storage).
• Bloomberg Terminal: this live feed to securities exchanges both domestic and international would support the planned finance major, as well as international business courses.
• wireless network with a few fixed workstations and some laptops? (question: how many and where to store)
• Moveable privacy screens to create on-the-fly group work areas.
