User Needs for Programs to be Located at Owings Mills in 2008



Nursing:

No longer moving to OM? Heavy use of media, print and electronic journals; heavy reserve use, heavily rely on in-person one-on-one help from library staff. Require flexible hours due to work schedule. Work frequently in groups. Instruction: Frequent users of library instruction. Reference: high use.

Information Technology:

Not heavy library users; probably can use electronic resources and travel to Stevenson Campus for print. Instruction: heavy through IS134; also get exposure through ENG 151. Information technology: are independent consumers of information on the free web.
Reference: Not high use.

Business:

Heavy use of electronic journals and databases; heavy reserve and reference use; may need significant help at certain times of the semester. Work frequently in groups. Are independent consumers of business information on the free web for some courses.
Instruction: not heavy requestors; use one-on-one at ref. desk.
Reference: high use.

Paralegal:

Heavy reliance on printed reference sources; need ready access to the traditional collections, especially for research course; rely on reference librarian for help. Also work frequently in groups. Instruction: not high use.
Reference: moderate use.

Education:

Need access to Baltimore County and other curriculum materials in traditional formats; utilize online resources such as ERIC and Proquest Education Journals databases; rely on reference librarian for help. Instruction: not high use.

What Other Groups need to be included here??
What about resident students regardless of major? People who take ENG 151 or other courses at Owings Mills?
